| Well, well, well. I did it. I started my own blog after being so inspired by Just My Cup of Tea - a really great blog about all sorts of cool stuff. I thought my first entry should introduce my personal sense of style. In brief, I love fashion. I know - Everyone says that! But I really do. While all my friends are reading Cosmo and Glamour (which is fine), I am reading Elle and Vogue (which is so very different). |

I love celebrity style but sometimes we can't wear the things they were. Why?
#1 - we can't usually afford it and #2 - where the hell are we actually going to wear those fancy frocks? Well, here are a few celebrity looks you can try to make your own. So, even if you are not an adventurous dresser, you can still try some of these tame trends:
This was my fave Golden Globes look. So how can you try to emulate this? |

I am dying for these - just dying. I'm not even that into jewelry or diamonds but these baubbles are so luxurious. I love the refreshing, modern use of diamonds in these pieces. And I've fallen in love with black diamonds. So chic. Damn, I wish I had money to blow.

Everyone has heard the overly used term "matchy matchy". And the trend now-a-days is to not be so "matchy matchy". However, if you are like me, you like to coordinate.
Now don't get me wrong, I don't always play it safe by matching my handbag with my shoes, and neither should you. Match your shoes to your top and/or your handbag to your pants or skirt. I'm not a big fan of matching your handbag to your top especially if you carry a shoulder bag. It creates a visual blob when you have the same color handbag sitting under your arm. And blob is not ... |

Another obsession to note. I know I have an obsessive personality but that's just me so get used to it! Anyway, I saw a gorgeous gray leather bag in last month's Lucky and have been going crazy in search of one I can actually afford. I decided to bring you all along on the journey...
The one that started it all:

I love to cook, bake, have parties (which I plan to do more of), mix cocktails, dot, dot, dot. And I've been told that I know my way around a kitchen (which is a nice compliment but I get it from my Grandmother, may she Rest in Peace). I found this great recipe on the Food Network. It comes from Giada De Laurentiis of Everyday Italian, one of my favorite shows. Don't get it twisted because I am using someone else's recipe - I will share some of my own recipes in the coming weeks!

I am so ready for Fashion Week. The Fall Collections are so important right now because they will lead us into Spring 2007, which is the collection I am currently working on for my own label. I try to have my own inspirations but the major designers do play a roll in what I like. I've been paying attention to trend forecasts for Spring 2007 but right now, I want to know if the forecasters are right for Fall 2006!
I am anxious to see Tracy Reese, Nicole Miller, Dolce and Gabbana, Temperly, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Project ... |

My Comments and Favorites from Fall Fashion Week 2006
Overall, I feel like I am waiting for a break out. Even though, I like the collections posted below, I'm not engaged enough. My heart did not palpitate and nothing made me twitterpate. However, we have a few more days for a Star collection to arise, in my eyes. I'll keep you posted... (And I promise to stop trying to rhyme!!)
Keywords and descriptions (in my opinion): Subdued, Slim Silhouettes, Tailored, Feminine Trends: Slim belts, Poet Sleeves, Colorful Shoes w/ Neutral Clothing, Empire Waists Colors: Loads of BLACK, Gray and Spice colors - think Ginger and ... |

More Favorites from Fall Fashion Week 2006
Ok, y'all. It's getting better. I really love the more streamlined silhouettes. There is still some fullness in skirts and coats but overall things are slimming down.
Side note: The models look a bit healthier to me. Said with a grain of salt (hey, maybe they have just been eating salty foods!!)

The Grammy's:
They were actually entertaining. I haven't sat down and watched the Grammys in like 3 or 4 years. So, when my boyfriend just had to watch it, I wasn't expecting much. And then there she was - Madonna, Madonna, Madonna. Her performance (along w/ the Gorillaz and De La Soul) rocked the house. She looks so damn good! I was so inspired by her body that I worked out last night. Seriously. For those of you who don't know - I LOVE Madonna. Always have. Always will. The whole show was pretty good except I don't think Sly was supposed to get ... |

Great Grammy round up. I did NOT like Beyoncé either. The hair, the dress, the pose. She's so stiff. It was so funny, when Destiny's Child (they were dressed and styled ALL WRONG!!) was presenting an award, Felton only heard Kelly Rowland speak and thought it was Beyoncé, so he said "sounds like Beyoncé has been taking speech lessons." I had to tell him it was Kelly and that Beyoncé already spoke and she sounded as Ghetto as ever! ... |

HGTV is wonderful. My favorite show is Divine Design with Candice Olson. Her taste level is supreme. She's an angel. I want to design a dining room similar to one of her rooms. It's her take on 'French Country' which I love b/c it does not contain an ounce of blue or yellow. I was also inspired by an episode of Debbie Travis' Face lift. I think I can blend the rooms together and make something all my own. Check out the links and then check out the pieces I've found.

My cousin is CaRazy! Here is an email conversation we had today about jibber jabber:
From Me: Hey...read my comment.
Shayla's Reply: (27, single, no kids, good job, middle class income and status). OH my god, your 27! You're really up there! Good comment! Can't you write intelligent comments like that one my blog?
Me: Shut up - hey I replied to your Grammy comment - and the photog one - I offered sage advice!!

I love jeans and by the looks of the people you see walking down the street or begging for casual Fridays at work, so does everyone else. My pocket book, however can do without them. Why do you ask? Because I am a Premium Denim Lover. And once you go Premium, you can't go back.
My love of Premium Denim (PD) was influenced by #1) one of BFs, Mrs. Kelly Herrera and #2) working at Urban Outfitters. Often times, when my friends would get together we'd end up having debates about the cost of PD versus jeans. There is a difference, ya know! I've ... |

| I have never been a fan of Kimora Lee Simmons, of the Baby Phat clothing line. There is just something about her that rubs me the wrong way. After today, I can be more specific about it. She is a total ego maniacal, megalomaniac (for Shayla - psychiatric disorder with delusions of power: a psychiatric disorder in which the patient experiences delusions of great power and importance [LOL!])! Please read the following excerpt from an article I found and you'll see why I say that. The lady actually compared herself to Queen Elizabeth and the Pope. Huh? What? She's crazy! ... |

Pleas click on these links so that you may know what Paris Hilton should look like. This is for all of you, like me, who wondered why she doesn't look like her sister, Nikki (who I think is much prettier than Paris). Now you'll know.
